The Quest for Meaning
The world today is in dire need of God-given direction—purpose. It seems, everywhere you turn, there are books, DVDs, self-help gurus, all promising to help people find their purpose. And yet… if they truly did, new books on the subject wouldn’t be popping out so often.
As humans, we all need that sense of direction. The knowledge that we exist for a reason. A specific reason, not just the generic. Something that’s only for us, something only we can do. And until we find this elusive purpose, we will keep searching. Keep buying books. Listening to podcasts. Yearning for more. Ultimately dissatisfied.
God made us with a purpose in mind. His perfect purpose for us, for me, and for you—individually. iPurpose exists to help you find that purpose. And not only find it, but live into it. Fully. Today, and forever.
Discovering God’s Personal Purpose for Your Life
According to Scripture, God has a given us each a universal and a personal purpose. But what are they? And how are we to live into them? The iPurpose program will take you through a step-by-step process of discovery. You will begin by writing an initial draft of your life purpose statement after carefully examining your life turning points. Then you’ll consider your God-given design, and compare and contrast it with your initial statement to further define and clarify your purpose. You’ll learn God’s overarching purpose that applies to everyone, and how to discern God’s purpose for you—and you alone—and how to fulfill it.
Uniquely You
Out in the world of purpose-centric programs, everybody’s talking in terms of the general man, general woman, and general life principles. They may not get into the really unique purpose that God has written for each one of us, as individuals. And that’s what we’re all about. Not only discovering this unique purpose but also teaching people how to really fulfill it in every facet of their lives.
Pursuing Purpose Together
We are not made to be alone—in fact, God created us to live in fellowship, both with Him and with each other. The iPurpose journey is designed to equip you through knowledge, but also with encouragement by a trusted group of supportive advisors—both equality important as we pursue our mission together. And not only are you being equipped and encouraged through the process, but you are also equipping and encouraging others.
Not Your Typical Church Meeting
Most people who come through our program have never been part of anything like it. They’ve never been in a true accountability group. The sheer intensity of the connections and intimacy built in the group can even overwhelm some people. Participants are both receiving and contributing at the same time, encouraging and being encouraged. By the end of the program, the group becomes like a little family. It’s something most people have never experienced in a Christian setting.
Intentional Discovery
The iPurpose Ministry equips and encourages you not only in the present, but into the future. By setting intentional goals, benchmarks, and milestones, you will be able to chart your progress as you grow into the purpose God has for you. Stay focused on your pursuit of purpose with the help of your iPurpose accountability group and experience continuing growth with the lessons you learn in the course.
A Family of Accountability
Over time as you share life’s issues and challenges in your group, relationships become very close. These relationships with fellow Christ-seekers provide participants with trusted advisors and accountability partners. Equal trust and status with Christ as the center of participants’ lives are essential to forming these deep connections. This aspect of forming and maintaining these constructive relationships is even a part of our continuing ministry plan, as keeping yourself in community and accountable to others is such an important part of a close walk with God.
The Greatest Commandment
Jesus tells us that the greatest commandment is to love—God first, and then our neighbors. Later he gives the Great Commission, to go and make disciples of the nations. As participants go through the program, they are discipled, and learn to disciple others. And this is the greatest commandment in action—we demonstrate our love for our neighbors AND our love for God through the discipling process.
Life after iPurpose
Our communities tend to live on past the 26-week program. Follow up from group facilitators as well as an expansive online community of iPurpose graduates helps keep people on track and together. Helpful content available on the website remote follow up seminars graduates can tune into, and local iPurpose networking groups also help keep the fire fresh. Keeping this engagement up after the end of the course is really what sets participants up for success in the long run. And that’s what we want—something people can sustain for the rest of their lives.
